Tents sites available in the flat wooded area.
Running water, and electricity available, at the picnic area. Port-a-potty will be on hand.

Twelve scouts and three adults from Troop 245 arrived at Retta Baptist Church at 9 AM on Saturday June 24th, 2006 on the Dan Diepert Charter bus to join 18 scouts and 11 adults from Troop 384 for the trip to Spanish Peaks Scout Ranch. Troop 384 loaded our equipment on the bus and we departed a few minutes before 10 AM for the trip to Palo Duro Canyon.

This past weekend, Troop 384 participated in the 2004 Camporall. 6 boys (Alex,Rusty Jr.,Jordan,Cody S.,Caleb, and Ryan) and 2 adults (Rusty Sr., and David Gustafson) represented the Troop, and Mr.Alley was there assisting the District and helping to run the show! The boys had a Great time running their event, as well as running up and down the cliffs around our campsite!

Rita Projected Path

Hurricane Rita is poised to strike the Texas coast this weekend as a category 4 or 5 storm. I may still be a category 1 storm as it passes over Austin on its way north. And it still may be a tropical storm by the time it gets north to our area. Since most of us have already experienced a summer storm on PK lake, we know there are safer places to be. The scoutmasters are watching the situation and will make an announcement Thursday night at 6:00pm through the patrol leader structure.
Update:The camping trip is cancelled for this weekend.
